McCormick innovations at SIMA 2011 (Hall.6 Stand.J90)

McCormick technology has always been a reference point in the tractor world and, true to this high-level technology policy, McCormick will be presenting numerous upgrades in all product segments at SIMA 2011 with special focus on the high powered tractors, now equipped with advanced engines featuring modern SCR technology, whilst other models have been given a re-vamped design. A new range of compact and utility tractors will also make its first public European showing at this important event.
Thanks to these innovations, McCormick tractors can provide a performance that's increasingly more able to meet the professional users' requirements, with the added attraction of a new level of comfort and an up-to-date, aggressive look.
New Denominations for the McCormick Tractors
McCormick will now be using a new model designation standard for its tractors, one that identifies the family, model and version in a simple and straight forward way. Each tractor in the McCormick range will be identified by a three-part code: AAA.BB C
AAA = The first part of the code (e.g. X10-X60-X70) indicates the family to which the tractor belongs, depending on its power bracket.
BB = the second number stands for the tractor’s ISO power bracket in increasing order of power (.10 for the least powerful model, .90 for the most powerful one).
C = the third part of the code is a letter that stands for the specific sub-family in the same family of tractors and depends on the sort of equipment installed (e.g.. X10.50F indicates a specialized orchard tractor version).
This new standard, use of which begins with the new ranges presented at SIMA 2011, will then be applied to all the future new ranges.
New McCormick X70 Series with Tier IIIB engines
Advanced, high-performance engine. Tier IIIB ready.
Heir to the TTX and XTX series, McCormick's X70 series is a generation of superior quality tractors featuring enhanced performance, reliability and meets the requirements of both farm owners and farm-contractors who cultivate vast areas of land.
This series will be represented at SIMA by two models from the X70 range featuring the innovative FPT Tier IIIB 6-cylinder engine, an extremely advanced product thanks to SCR technology.
McCormick’s new X60 range
The new X60 series is McCormick’s technological evolution of the CX series and is even more reliable and performance-oriented.
With its X60.20, X60.30, X60.40 and X60.50 models, the new X60 range is the optimum choice for both light work and heavier duty open-field applications. Furthermore, thanks to an increased ground clearance is greatly improved the tractor versatility.
Replacing the CX series, the new range comprises two further engine ratings and thereby includes even higher powered tractors. The main feature of the new X60.50 model is its Perkins 4-cylinder Turbo aftercooler engine which comes with power boost as std. The new engine is able to boost engine power to as much as 121 HP (ISO rating) despite its 112 HP power rating. For transport work the engine revs drop at 40kph and consequently cutting down on fuel consumption.
For added comfort boosted brakes are installed allowing deceleration rates to easily meet and exceed those required by the European standards.
An important innovations include the Power Shuttle transmission. This features a basic 12-speed gearbox in conjunction with a hydraulic three-speed powershift that triples the ratios of the basic gearbox and hydraulic reverse shuttle on load, thus providing a total 36 FWD + 12 REV speeds. Add the creep speed option to get 48 FWD + 16 REV speeds. The electro hydraulically controlled PTO is available with 2 speeds, 540/750 or 540/1000 as standard, or again, as an alternative, with 3 speed option (540/750/1000) for the utmost versatility. Modulated PTO engagement is regulated automatically by a sensor that detects the inertia of the implement used.
Fitted as standard the hydraulic reverse shuttle electronically controlled. This feature allows the operator to “dial in” and change the forward and reverse shuttle shift characteristics to their own preferences. The switch is easily reached on the instrument panel allowing the operator to modulate the action of the unit to suit the implement used.
Another characteristic of the X60 series is that up to 5 hydraulic control valves can be specified. Together with lift capacity up to 5,000kg the new X60 Series delivers versatility, reliability and performance in a compact all round package.
McCormick’s MC Series
Restyling for a new look.
A new, modern and attractive looking front, with round headlights built into the grille. This will be the new look of McCormick's MC tractor families, now an extremely advanced proposal in the medium-high power bracket. The range has been subjected to a significant restyling process that has remarkably improved its functional characteristics and design. After the introduction of the new cab, the series was given a re-vamped look and is now a decidedly advanced product.
McCormick X10 Series tractors
The new range completes McCormick’s proposal in the compact and utility tractor segment.
McCormick is launching a new range of tractors with 22 to 91 HP fluid-cooled engines featuring 3 and 4 cylinders in line. Although they are compact in size, these tractors combine a generous performance with user comfort. The range comprises 9 engine ratings with hydrostatic or mechanical transmissions. The cab version is also available for some models. These new X10 Series tractors are ideal for a wide variety of jobs, from agricultural work to ground care. They also feature an extremely sturdy construction and are thus suitable for use with front loaders as well.
McCormick T-Max tractors
Besides offering superior class features, the T-Max series now includes a new, higher powered model.
The T-Max series also sports the new 115 engine, thus adding a powerful 110 HP tractor to this innovative range. All the models in the series will be available in both the Synchro Shuttle and Power Shuttle versions.
now sports the new T-115MAX model with its power packed 110 HP engine. All the models in the series will be available in the Synchro Shuttle and Power Shuttle versions.
McCormick F Series tractors
New models with 3-cylinder engines. New 70 and 120 engines for the entire XL, F and GE range.
Recently upgraded, McCormick's range of specialized tractors now offers high-level comfort and performance. With its pioneering roof and bonnet design, the new range also features an extremely advanced and professional hydraulic circuit allowing the power lift to be regulated with greater accuracy. Moreover, a rear and front PTO are both available plus new hydraulic functions. The tighter turning radius makes these tractors even easier to manoeuvre between the crop rows. Moreover, the F series now features the new 70 and 120 engines, thus adding both a 68 and 110 HP tractor to the range.
McCormick’s new CL 70
The new CL 70 model adds to the range.
A versatile, simply designed and extremely sturdy tractor, McCormick's CL is a true utility machine. The range now includes the new CL 70 model in addition to the more powerful CL 80. This new McCormick tractor is equipped with the pioneering, high-performance 68 HP Perkins 3-cylinder Turbo Aftercooler engine.
McCormick GM Series tractors
Improved comfort for the operator thanks to the new cab.
The versatile and easily handled GM series sports a re-vamped cab that offers an even superior level of comfort. Now fitted with a new, 4 post cab, visibility has been dramatically improved. Cab pressurization has also been improved, thus less noise is perceived by the operator while the cab interior is totally isolated from outdoor dust.
The air conditioning system has also been improved and is now even more efficient (+15%). Last but not least, the cab of the GM series features a more modern, up-to-the-minute design.
McCormick is a brand owned by Argo Tractors SpA. Argo Tractors, with its headquarters in Fabbrico (Reggio Emilia), manufactures tractors under the Landini, McCormick and Valpadana brands and belongs to the Argo Industrial Group. Argo Tractors SpA has tripled its production volumes in little more than 10 years, with a remarkable growth in concrete results: in 2009, the group turnover amounted to 447 million Euros. The enterprise numbers 2,000 employees and has 3 manufacturing plants, 8 business branches in various parts of the world, 130 overseas importers and 2,500 dealers. Statistics that have allowed the Landini, McCormick and Valpadana brands to achieve a significant standing in the domestic tractor market and to represent one of the most important international players, thus confirming the value of a successful group strategy.
